Competent on trademark filing, communication could improve

I hired Scott Douglass to handle a trademark application for my small business here in Nashville. His knowledge of the process was evident, and he successfully navigated the USPTO filing for me. I appreciated that he could draw on his experience litigating trademark claims, which gave me confidence in his strategic advice. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. There were periods of several days where I received no response to my emails, which created anxiety during the waiting phases. While the legal work was solid and he clearly knows copyright and trademark law inside out, I expected more proactive updates for the fees involved. He resolved the matter competently, but the client service aspect felt just adequate. For straightforward filings where you don't need constant hand-holding, he is a capable attorney.
