I engaged Sara Burgin at Bracewell to assist with a complex water rights issue for a family-owned agricultural property near Austin. Her deep expertise in water law was immediately apparent. She referenced historical precedents and regulatory nuances with clear authority, which was reassuring given her long-standing recognition in that specific field. The legal strategy she developed was sound, and we achieved an acceptable resolution. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. While her knowledge is formidable, communication was not always proactive. There were periods where we waited days for updates on straightforward questions, and at times her explanations, while technically precise, felt rushed. For the premium rate, I expected a more consistent client experience. She is undoubtedly a highly skilled attorney, as her awards suggest, but the overall service felt more adequate than exceptional. I would recommend her for her technical mastery in environmental and water matters, but with the caveat to be prepared to manage the communication flow actively.
