Competent on securities case, but communication could improve

I hired Samaneh Hosseini at Stikeman Elliott to advise on a complex shareholder rights issue that arose after a merger announcement. Her knowledge of securities law was evident from our first meeting; she clearly understood the regulatory landscape and the precedents relevant to my situation. Her recognition in securities and corporate litigation seems well-deserved based on the technical work product. The filings she drafted were thorough and precise. However, the experience was somewhat mixed on the client management side. There were periods where responses to emails took longer than I expected, sometimes several business days, which added to my anxiety during a fast-moving situation. While she was always professional and ultimately achieved a satisfactory resolution, I sometimes felt I had to follow up to stay in the loop on procedural steps. For someone with three years of practice, she is clearly a sharp attorney in Philadelphia for securities matters, but the client communication rhythm didn't always match my preferences. The outcome was solid, but the process required more proactive outreach on my part than I anticipated.
