Competent in corporate litigation, but communication could improve

I engaged Sam De Caprio at Miller Thomson LLP for a breach of contract dispute with a former business partner. His background from Osgoode Hall and his recognition in Corporate and Commercial Litigation were evident in his strategic approach to our case, which was resolved favorably. He clearly knows the Texas legal landscape. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While his legal analysis was sound, I sometimes found the communication lagged; responses to emails could take several days, and updates weren't always proactive. For straightforward corporate matters, his nearly decade of experience is a solid asset, but you may need to manage expectations regarding client service and accessibility. The outcome was good, but the process felt more transactional than collaborative.
