Competent on the deal, but communication could be more consistent

Our mid-sized tech firm engaged Rüdiger Schmidt-Bendun at Skadden Arps for a relatively straightforward asset acquisition. His technical knowledge in M&A was evident from the start; he clearly understood the structural nuances of the deal, and his affiliation with a firm of Skadden's caliber provided a solid foundation. It was reassuring to know we had an attorney whose work in Mergers and Acquisitions has been formally recognized. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. While Rüdiger was always precise in his analysis, there were periods where we experienced significant wait times for responses to non-urgent, yet important, follow-up questions. For a firm of this reputation, I expected a slightly more proactive communication style. The legal work product itself was thorough and the deal closed successfully, but the process felt more like we were being serviced by a very skilled junior resource rather than being proactively guided. He is undoubtedly a sharp attorney with a promising future, especially given his background, but the client management aspect could be more polished to match the firm's prestige.
