Knowledgeable on municipal law, but communication could improve

I hired Ronald Redick from Mika Meyers to assist with a complex property dispute involving a variance denial from our local zoning board. His 25 years of experience, particularly his recognition in land use and municipal law, were evident from the start. He clearly understood the nuances of riparian rights and the appellate process, which were central to our case. The legal strategy he developed was sound, and we ultimately reached a satisfactory settlement. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While his expertise is undeniable, practical aspects of client service fell short. Responses to emails were often delayed by several business days, leaving me to manage significant anxiety during critical phases. At times, his explanations of procedural steps felt rushed, assuming a level of legal familiarity I didn't possess. For straightforward legal matters within his wheelhouse, like zoning litigation, his competence is solid. Yet, for someone navigating the legal system for the first time, the lack of consistent, proactive communication made the process more stressful than it needed to be. He is a capable attorney, but setting clearer expectations on timelines and communication would greatly enhance the client experience.
