Competent on the deal, but communication could improve

Rob Fleetwood at Barack Ferrazzano handled the acquisition of a smaller community bank for our financial holding company. His deep experience in banking M&A, built over his 30-year career, was evident. He navigated the regulatory complexities with the confidence you'd expect from an attorney recognized in financial services law. The final deal structure was sound. However, the process felt somewhat transactional. While his expertise in securities offerings and recapitalizations is clearly substantial, responsiveness was inconsistent at times. We sometimes waited longer than preferred for updates, and explanations of certain finer points assumed a level of familiarity we didn't always have. For a straightforward corporate matter requiring his specific niche, he is a capable choice, but set clear expectations on communication cadence from the outset.
