Bio

Bob Daileader represents a wide variety of energy clients in the development, financing, and construction of energy infrastructure projects, as well as on the federal and state regulatory approvals needed for such projects. Bob has represented clients in the energy industry for more than forty years. My focusMy practice is heavily focused on the development, financing, and construction of electric infrastructure projects, particularly renewable generation and transmission facilities.Electric Transmission FacilitiesI represent developers of new electric transmission facilities in New Mexico, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Missouri, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, California, and Arizona. I am involved in the negotiation of the commercial contracts needed for these projects as well as the regulatory approvals.Electric Generation FacilitiesI negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, (engineering, procurement, and construction) agreements, equipment purchase agreements, O&M (operation and maintenance) agreements for electric generation projects, including both new generation and environmental retrofits on existing generation. For example, I am representing Pattern Energy Group LP as the owner of SunZia Transmission LLC—a 550-mile, 525 kV HVDC transmission project to be built in New Mexico and Arizona—and as the owner of the wind projects that will utilize the SunZia Transmission capacity to transmit the electric output of the projects to Western U.S. markets.Looking aheadAt present, my practice is heavily focused on the development of renewable energy generation (particularly wind and solar) and the related electric transmission facilities needed to move the energy output from these facilities to load centers. Given that the economics of renewable generation has improved relative to fossil fuel generation and with the increased focus on the climate impacts of electric generation, I believe that trend will continue for the foreseeable future.
