Competent handling of a residential lease dispute

I engaged Robert Spolzino at Abrams Fensterman to assist with a contentious lease renewal issue with my landlord in Manhattan. For a newer attorney with one year of experience, Robert demonstrated a solid grasp of New York real estate and tenant law. His analysis of the lease terms was thorough, and the strategy he outlined was sound, ultimately helping us reach a reasonable settlement. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. Communication was not as proactive as I would have liked; I often had to follow up for updates, and responses sometimes took a few days. While his legal competence in this general practice matter was adequate, the overall client service aspect felt like it was still developing. He got the job done, but the process lacked the polished, client-focused touch I expected from a firm of this caliber.
