Competent on employment law, but communication could improve

I retained Richard Greenberg at Jackson Lewis for a wrongful termination matter. His background in labor and employment law, particularly his recognition in management-side work, was evident in his solid grasp of the legal issues. He was professional and the advice he gave on structuring our position was sound. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. There were periods where responses to emails took longer than expected, and I sometimes felt I had to follow up to get updates on case developments. While he clearly knows his field—his litigation experience from Brooklyn Law School onward shows—managing client expectations and proactive communication weren't as strong. The legal outcome was acceptable, but the process felt more detached than I would have preferred for such a personal matter.
