Competent on my zoning issue, but communication was inconsistent

I hired Raminta Dereskeviciute at McDermott Will & Schulte to assist with a zoning variance application for a small property I own in Phoenix. Her background in government practice, as noted in her profile, was evident. She understood the municipal processes and her advice on navigating the city's planning department was technically sound and ultimately helped get the application approved. However, my experience was mixed. While Raminta was knowledgeable, there were noticeable delays in email responses, sometimes taking several business days for a reply on time-sensitive matters. For a straightforward general practice matter like this, I expected more proactive updates. The billing was clear and fair for her level of experience, which I appreciated. She is clearly a capable attorney, especially for matters interfacing with local government, but the client service aspect felt more like a work in progress. I left feeling the job was done adequately, but without the reassurance of consistent communication I would have preferred.
