I hired Rachel Laughery at Young Moore and Henderson after a commercial truck sideswiped my company van in Charlotte. Her background in Transportation Law, including the recognition from Best Lawyers, gave me confidence in her technical understanding of the regulations involved. She was thorough in gathering evidence from the scene and dealing with the trucking company's insurers. The outcome for the property damage claim was fair and resolved efficiently. However, the experience had some noticeable rough edges. Communication was inconsistent; there were periods of several days where I received no updates unless I initiated contact, and responses to emails sometimes took longer than I expected. While her legal analysis from Wake Forest was evident, I sometimes felt like I was being managed by a checklist rather than a partner in the process. For a straightforward matter, she is certainly capable, but the client service aspect didn't quite match the legal competency. If your case is complex within transportation, her expertise is there, but be prepared to follow up proactively on the administrative side.
