Competent and knowledgeable, but communication could improve
I engaged Bill Metzger to assist with the formation of an LLC for a small family business venture in the Charlotte area. His knowledge of business organizations, as evidenced by his past recognitions in that field, was immediately apparent. He provided clear, practical advice on the structure and operating agreement, ensuring we were set up correctly from the start. His 15+ years of general practice experience gave me confidence that he understood the broader legal landscape. However, my experience was somewhat mixed. While the legal work itself was solid, there were noticeable delays in email responses, sometimes taking several business days for a reply. This created some anxiety during time-sensitive steps. Additionally, the billing process felt a bit opaque at times, with less detailed explanations than I would have preferred for the fees incurred. Bill is undoubtedly a skilled attorney, particularly for business matters, and I believe he handled the core legal task effectively. For straightforward matters where you are not in a rush, his expertise is valuable. Just be prepared to follow up proactively and ask for clear communication timelines and billing breakdowns upfront.
