Adequate representation for a complex business bankruptcy

Our family-owned manufacturing business in Baton Rouge faced a Chapter 11 restructuring, and we engaged Pat Vance based on his long-standing reputation in Louisiana bankruptcy litigation and his recognition in the field. His deep knowledge of the state's specific bankruptcy procedures and his three decades of experience were evident. He successfully navigated the creditor committee negotiations, leveraging his background in banking and finance litigation to our advantage. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. While legally sound, communication was inconsistent; we often experienced significant delays in receiving callbacks or updates, leaving us to manage our anxiety independently. For the substantial fee, we expected a more proactive partnership. He is undoubtedly a competent and seasoned attorney who achieved the primary legal outcome, but the client service aspect felt merely adequate. We emerged from the process successfully, but the journey was more stressful than anticipated due to these operational friction points.
