Competent handling of a commercial dispute, but communication could improve

I engaged Philipp Dickenmann from CMS von Erlach Partners Ltd to assist with a commercial contract dispute that arose with a former business partner here in Fort Worth. The matter had the potential to escalate into formal litigation, so I sought an attorney with a solid grounding in that area. Philipp's recognized experience in litigation was a key factor in my decision. He demonstrated clear competence in analyzing the contractual terms and advising on our legal position. The strategy he developed, which successfully steered us toward a mediated settlement before filing a lawsuit, was sound and ultimately saved considerable expense. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. There were several instances where responses to emails took longer than I would have preferred, sometimes stretching to three or four business days, which left me feeling somewhat in the dark during critical junctures. While the outcome was positive, the process felt more reactive than proactive in terms of client communication. For straightforward legal matters, his expertise is evident, but clients who prioritize frequent updates may need to set very clear expectations from the outset.
