I engaged Peter Swire at Alston & Bird to assist my tech startup with navigating GDPR compliance and drafting our internal data governance policies. His background as a former White House privacy official was immediately evident; his analysis of the regulatory landscape was thorough and his strategic advice was sound. He clearly understands the intersection of technology and law at a high level. However, the experience was mixed on the service front. While the quality of the final work product was good, there were periods where communication lagged, and it sometimes took several days to get a reply to non-urgent emails. For the premium rate, I expected more consistent accessibility. Peter is undoubtedly an expert in his field, and his recognition in technology law is well-deserved. For complex privacy matters, his insight is valuable, but be prepared to manage expectations around turnaround times for routine follow-ups.
