A competent attorney, but communication could be improved

I engaged Peter Burger of Orr & Reno to assist with the formation and operating agreement for a new LLC I was starting with two partners. His deep experience, spanning nearly four decades, was immediately apparent. He clearly knows business organizations inside and out, and his recent recognition in that area is well-earned. The final documents were thorough and professionally drafted, leaving no doubt about his technical expertise in commercial transactions. However, the process felt somewhat transactional. While he answered my direct questions, I often found myself wishing for more proactive guidance on potential pitfalls for new businesses. Responses to emails sometimes took several days, which created minor delays during a time-sensitive startup phase. For straightforward legal work, Mr. Burger is undoubtedly capable and his long tenure in Concord is a significant asset. My expectations for a more collaborative and communicative partnership, however, were not fully met. He handled the specific task competently, but I was left managing the broader strategic concerns on my own.
