I engaged Payal Gurnani and Simmons Hanly Conroy after my personal information was compromised in a major corporate data breach. With her two decades of experience and recognition in mass torts, particularly in internet privacy, I felt confident in her legal strategy. The firm's resources in product liability and class actions were evident. However, my experience was mixed. While the substantive work on the case seemed thorough, communication was sometimes inconsistent. There were periods of several weeks where I received no updates unless I initiated contact, which was frustrating given the personal nature of the issue. Wait times for returned calls or emails were often longer than expected. Ms. Gurnani's expertise is not in question—she clearly knows this complex area of law—but the client management aspect felt just adequate. For someone with her profile and the firm's reputation, I had hoped for a more proactive and responsive partnership throughout the multi-year process.
