Competent on complex restructuring, communication could improve

Paul Leake at Skadden handled a complex creditor-side matter for our firm during a major Chapter 11 restructuring. His deep knowledge of bankruptcy litigation and insolvency law, backed by his 15 years of experience and recognition in those fields, was evident in the strategic advice he provided. The legal work product itself was thorough and aligned with his strong reputation in banking and finance law. However, for a matter of this scale and cost, we sometimes found the communication flow to be less consistent than expected. Responses to non-urgent inquiries could take longer than ideal, and updates often felt more reactive than proactive. While we achieved a satisfactory outcome and never doubted his technical expertise, the client service experience felt more transactional. He is undoubtedly a skilled attorney, but managing client expectations on the process side could be enhanced.
