Competent on employment law, but communication was inconsistent

I retained Mr. Hulla to represent our small business in a wrongful termination case brought by a former employee. His knowledge of Missouri employment law for management was evident, and his background with a firm like Ogletree, Deakins gave me confidence. He successfully navigated the initial litigation phases, and his recognition in labor and employment law is well-deserved from a technical standpoint. However, the experience was mixed. While he was thorough in his legal analysis, there were periods where communication lagged. Responses to emails sometimes took several days, and it was occasionally difficult to get a clear timeline for next steps. For a business owner, this created some operational uncertainty. The outcome of our case was ultimately satisfactory, aligning with his nearly decade of experience. Yet, I expected a more proactive partnership given his expertise. He is a capable attorney who knows his field, but managing client expectations and maintaining consistent dialogue could be improved.
