Competent on insurance claim, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Olivier Purcell at HFW for a complex marine cargo insurance dispute. His recognized expertise in both Insurance and Transportation Law was evident from our initial consultation; he clearly understood the nuances of international shipping regulations and policy exclusions. The legal strategy he developed was sound and ultimately helped us reach a settlement. However, my experience was mixed. While Olivier is undoubtedly knowledgeable, there were significant delays in receiving updates. Responses to emails often took several days, which created anxiety during a stressful process. Some of his explanations, though technically accurate, felt rushed and assumed a level of legal familiarity I didn't have. For straightforward matters within his recognized fields, he is certainly capable. Yet, for clients who prioritize consistent communication and detailed, patient guidance, the service felt merely adequate. The outcome was acceptable, but the journey to get there was more frustrating than anticipated.
