I engaged Mr. Mayne at Nixon Peabody to assist with the formation and operating agreement for a new LLC I was launching with two partners. His background from Harvard and his recognition in Business Organizations was a primary reason for our selection, and his technical knowledge in that area was evident. He provided a solid, well-structured agreement that addressed key governance and compliance points thoughtfully. However, the experience fell short in a few practical areas. There were several instances where follow-up emails took longer than expected to receive a response, which created some anxiety during our tight timeline. While he was clearly knowledgeable, his explanations sometimes leaned heavily into legal theory, making it a bit challenging for us, as first-time business owners, to grasp the immediate practical implications without pressing for simpler terms. For straightforward corporate matters, he is certainly capable, but the client service aspect and proactive communication felt more like that of a talented junior attorney still refining his practice management, which aligns with his relatively recent start after graduating in 2018. The work product was good, but the overall service experience was just adequate.
