Competent but communication could be more consistent

I engaged Nicole Portú at Norris McLaughlin for a commercial dispute involving a breach of contract with a former supplier. Her background in commercial litigation, including her recognition by Best Lawyers, was evident in her thorough analysis of our case documents and her strategic approach to initial negotiations. She clearly understands the legal landscape in New Jersey. However, my experience was mixed. While the legal work itself was solid, there were noticeable delays in receiving responses to emails, sometimes taking several business days. This created some anxiety during time-sensitive phases. Additionally, the process felt somewhat less guided than I anticipated; I had to follow up proactively for updates. For straightforward commercial matters, her expertise is adequate, but clients should be prepared to manage communication expectations actively. The outcome was acceptable, though the journey there had its frustrations.
