Competent on energy contract, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Nicholas Cicale at Davis Wright Tremaine to review a complex power purchase agreement for my small renewable energy startup. His background in Energy Law, including the recognition from Best Lawyers, was evident in his thorough analysis of the regulatory clauses. He clearly knows this niche area. The work product was solid and he identified several key risks I had missed. However, the experience was mixed. There were periods where responses to emails took longer than expected, and at times, explanations felt slightly rushed, as if he was juggling many priorities. For the premium rate, I expected more proactive updates. He is undoubtedly knowledgeable—particularly for someone who has been recognized in the field since 2026—and got the job done competently. Just be prepared to manage the communication flow actively yourself.
