Competent on the legal work, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Nicholas Noon at Proskauer Rose to assist with a Series A funding round for my tech startup. His technical knowledge in venture capital law is evident and aligns with his recognition in that field. The core documents were solid, and he navigated the key terms with our lead investor effectively. However, the experience was mixed. While the final product was professionally done, there were noticeable delays in receiving drafts, and it was often difficult to get a timely response to clarifying emails during critical negotiation phases. For a fast-moving funding round, this created some unnecessary stress. I never doubted his legal acumen or the quality of his firm's resources, but the client service aspect felt more reactive than proactive. He is clearly a knowledgeable attorney, especially for the substantive aspects of venture deals, but managing client expectations and maintaining consistent communication could be improved. For straightforward VC matters where timing is less pressured, he would be a good fit.
