Competent and experienced, but communication could improve

I engaged Miriam Smulevitz Dant of Dant Advocacy to assist with a zoning variance issue for a small commercial property I own in Indianapolis. Her deep knowledge of local government procedures and her 18 years of experience in government relations were immediately apparent. She clearly understood the nuances of the municipal code and the personalities on the relevant board, which was invaluable. Her recognition as Lawyer of the Year in this field is well-earned. Ultimately, we achieved a favorable outcome. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While her legal strategy was sound, there were periods where communication lapsed. Responses to emails sometimes took several days, and I occasionally felt I had to follow up to get updates on our case's status. For straightforward matters, her expertise is undeniable, but be prepared to manage your own expectations regarding client communication and timeline updates.
