Competent in insolvency matters, but communication could improve

I engaged Mike Westkamp at Görg to assist with a complex business insolvency matter for my small company. His technical knowledge in Restructuring and Insolvency Law, the area where he's recognized by Best Lawyers, was evident. He understood the nuances of the German insolvency process and provided a legally sound strategy. However, the experience was mixed. While his analysis was thorough, there were often significant delays in receiving responses to emails, which added to our stress during a critical period. His direct, no-nonsense approach from his Wuppertal practice was efficient, but at times felt impersonal. For straightforward legal expertise, he is capable, but managing client expectations and maintaining consistent communication were areas where the service felt merely adequate, not exceptional.
