Competent in employment matters, but communication could improve
I hired Michael Kilgallin from Roper Greyell to advise on a complex non-compete agreement and potential wrongful dismissal. His background in Labour and Employment Law, including the recognition he's received in that field, was evident. He provided solid, practical legal advice that was rooted in his significant experience. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While the final outcome was satisfactory, there were periods where responses to emails took longer than expected, and some of the procedural explanations felt rushed. For straightforward employment law issues, his competence from Dalhousie and years of practice is clear, but managing client expectations on timelines could be better. He's knowledgeable, but the service aspect was just adequate.
