Competent in bankruptcy but communication could improve

Mr. Weaver handled my Chapter 13 filing with clear expertise, and his recognition as a Lawyer of the Year in bankruptcy litigation was evident in his strategic approach. He is undoubtedly knowledgeable about creditor rights and South Carolina insolvency law. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While the legal outcome was satisfactory, there were periods where communication was slower than I would have preferred, making it difficult to get updates on routine matters. His team at Ward and Smith was professional, but managing client expectations on timelines could be better. For straightforward bankruptcy matters, he is a capable attorney, but be prepared to follow up proactively.
