Competent on corporate structure, but communication was inconsistent

Michael Bain at WilmerHale assisted my tech startup with a Series A funding round. His deep knowledge of venture capital law, evidenced by his recent 'Lawyer of the Year' recognition, was clear in the complex term sheet negotiations. The final corporate structure was solid. However, for a 3-star rating, the experience was mixed. While he was brilliant when engaged, response times were sometimes longer than expected, and his explanations could be quite technical without always bridging to practical business implications. For straightforward corporate governance matters, he is certainly capable, but managing client communication and setting clear timelines for deliverables could be improved. He knows his field, but the service aspect felt just adequate.
