Competent real estate attorney, but communication could improve

I hired Melissa Cassell at Morton & Gettys to assist with the purchase of a small commercial property in Portland. Her background in business administration and her recognition in real estate law were evident; she was thorough with the title review and the contract details, catching a few concerning clauses from the seller. Her knowledge of South Carolina real estate law is solid. However, the experience was just okay. There were several instances where I had to follow up multiple times for updates, and responses to emails often took 3-4 business days. While the legal work on my closing was handled correctly, the process felt less collaborative than I had hoped. For a straightforward transaction, she gets the job done, but the communication pace and lack of proactive updates made it a somewhat frustrating experience. She is clearly knowledgeable, especially given her recent recognitions, but the client service aspect didn't quite match the legal expertise.
