I am the owner of Piccolo Law Offices, an attorney, and counselor at law. I serve clients in Nevada and Utah, with a focus on representing employees and people whose civil rights have been violated. I started my own law practice to have the freedom to offer the best service I can at prices that are fair. My practice is client-centered: I enjoy interacting with my clients directly and working personally to meet their legal needs from beginning to end. I use an assertive approach to achieve the best possible outcome for my clients, while also striving to be ethical and professional. I communicate regularly with my clients and listen to them so I can understand their goals and wishes. Before starting my practice, I served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Robert C. Jones, a federal district judge in Reno, Nevada. I graduated summa cum laude from the Michigan State University College of Law and served on law review. During law school, I was an extern for both a federal judge on the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and for the Michigan Court of Appeals. Prior to law school, I worked for six years in public policy in Washington, D.C. and Salt Lake City. I volunteer as a pro bono attorney for the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, and have served as a leader of a local group of cub scouts. I enjoy playing the trumpet and volunteered with the Murray Symphony Orchestra for three years. I was raised in Utah and have lived in six other states and Italy. When my employer terminated me under highly suspicious circumstances after I raised concerns about discriminatory practices, I felt powerless and uncertain. After consulting with several attorneys, I chose Matthew Piccolo based on his clear focus on representing employees and civil rights. From our initial consultation, his depth of knowledge in Nevada employment law was evident. He didn't just see a potential lawsuit; he understood the profound personal and professional impact the situation had on me. Matthew meticulously investigated my case, explaining each step and legal strategy in terms I could grasp, never resorting to confusing jargon. His dual-state licensure in Nevada and Utah proved invaluable as some of the corporate policies originated from their Utah headquarters. Throughout what was an incredibly stressful process, his counsel was both legally sharp and genuinely compassionate. He negotiated with a firm but professional demeanor, ultimately securing a settlement that far exceeded my expectations and included crucial non-monetary terms for my career rehabilitation. Matthew Piccolo isn't just a skilled litigator; he is a dedicated advocate who fights for people when they are most vulnerable. I cannot recommend Piccolo Law Offices highly enough for anyone facing workplace injustice or civil rights violations.
