He litigates and consults clients on a wide variety of matters, including energy and infrastructure projects, federal antitrust and its related issues, state consumer protection and antitrust laws, commercial contract disputes, and federal and statute regulatory schemes.Matthew has extensive experience representing clients in federal and state courts at both the trial and appellate levels in high-stakes litigation on issues ranging from the constitutionality of state law to statutory interpretation to complex discovery disputes. He has represented clients in appellate courts across the country, including before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the First, Third, Fourth, and Ninth Circuits, the Maryland Supreme Court, and the California Court of Appeal.Before joining the firm, Matthew was a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Adam M. Conrad on the North Carolina Business Court, where his responsibilities included drafting and editing published opinions and orders of significance. Matthew earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from Wake Forest University, where he ranked first in his graduating class and was honored as a member of the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barristers. He also served as an executive editor for the Wake Forest Law Review.
