Competent for straightforward real estate transaction

I hired Matt Schoenfeld to assist with the purchase of a small commercial property in Albuquerque. His background in real estate law was evident, and he handled the title review and closing documents efficiently. The transaction closed on time without any major issues, which was our primary goal. I also noted his recognition in this specific area, which gave me confidence in his technical knowledge. However, my experience was somewhat mixed. While the legal work was solid, communication could be inconsistent. There were periods of several days where I received no updates, and responses to emails were sometimes slower than I would have preferred. For a relatively simple deal, this was manageable but a bit frustrating. I believe Matt is a capable attorney, particularly for uncomplicated matters within his recognized practice areas. My expectations for proactive communication and client management were just adequately met. I would consider him again for similar straightforward work, but with adjusted expectations regarding the client service aspect of the engagement.
