Dorothy Green
I engaged Mary Grieco and her team at Olshan Frome Wolosky to handle a trademark opposition proceeding for my small design firm. With her 27 years of experience and recognition in The Best Lawyers in America for Copyright Law, I was confident in her technical expertise, and that confidence was largely justified. Her analysis of the conflicting marks was thorough, and her strategy for the proceeding was sound and pragmatic. She clearly understands the nuances of building and protecting a brand on a global scale. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. While the substantive work was solid, there were noticeable delays in receiving responses to emails, sometimes stretching to several business days, which created anxiety during time-sensitive phases. Additionally, the billing structure, while standard for a New York firm of this caliber, felt somewhat opaque for the level of associate involvement on routine filings. Mary is undoubtedly a knowledgeable intellectual property attorney, and we achieved a satisfactory settlement. For straightforward matters where cost predictability and rapid communication are lower priorities, she is a capable choice. For clients who need more hand-holding or clearer project management, expectations should be set very clearly from the outset.
