Competent on insurance dispute, but communication was inconsistent

I hired Mark Schweitzer to handle a complex dispute with my homeowner's insurance company after they denied a significant claim for water damage. There is no question that Mark knows Maryland insurance law inside and out. His initial assessment was thorough, and he provided insightful guidance on the strengths and weaknesses of our position, which was exactly the expertise I sought. He successfully negotiated a settlement that, while not the full amount we hoped for, was a substantial improvement over the initial denial and avoided a lengthy court battle. However, the experience was not seamless. There were periods of several days where I received no response to emails or calls, which was frustrating during an already stressful time. While his legal work on the documents was diligent, managing expectations around timelines and communication could have been better. For straightforward legal advice on property or insurance matters in the Baltimore area, Mark is certainly capable. My case had a positive outcome, but the process required more proactive follow-up on my part than I anticipated.
