Mark Davis is a partner in the Corporate Practice Group. He focuses on real estate. Mark draws on his more than 35 years of experience to help clients coordinate real estate developments and orchestrate transactions, including acquisition, leasing, and financing matters, as well as zoning issues. His practice spans the development of shopping centers, office buildings, hotels, mixed-use facilities, hospital facilities, medical office buildings, and manufacturing facilities. A solid, experienced attorney for real estate matters

I hired Mark Davis to assist with the acquisition and zoning for a small commercial property in Jackson. His deep experience in real estate law was immediately apparent. He referenced past developments he had worked on, and his recognition as a 'Lawyer of the Year' in this field is well-earned from a technical standpoint. The documents he prepared were thorough, and his advice on structuring the deal was sound. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. Communication was not as proactive as I had hoped; there were periods where I had to follow up multiple times for updates, and responses could be delayed. While the final outcome was satisfactory, the process felt a bit more opaque and slower than expected given his seniority at Jones Walker. For a straightforward real estate transaction where you value seasoned expertise over hand-holding, Mark is a competent choice. Just be prepared to manage the timeline and communication expectations directly.
