Mark L. Martin

Mark L. Martin graduated, an honor student, from the University of California at Berkeley and received his law degree with honors, from the University of Arkansas in 1981. Mr. Martin was appointed General Counsel for the Arkansas AFL-CIO in 1996 and has served as a Member of the Arkansas Governor’s Employment Security Advisory Council since 1997. He was appointed by Governor Bill Clinton, to serve on the Arkansas Economic Advisory Committee from 1979-1981. Mr. Martin served as the Associate Editor for the Arkansas Law Review from 1980-1981. He is the author of “Wrongful Discharge of Employees Terminable at Will– A New Theory of Liability in Arkansas,” Arkansas Law Review, Vol. 34, No. 4, 1981. The Arkansas Times listed him as one of the top Labor Attorneys in the state of Arkansas. He has an “A-V” rating with Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest rating available for legal ability and ethics. The Chief Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court, by the authority of the Court’s Per Curiam Order delivered on December 15, 2016, appointed Mr. Martin to Panel A of the Supreme Court Committee on Professional Conduct, where he continues to serve.
