Competent estate planning, but communication could improve

I engaged Mark Osborne to assist with a complex estate plan involving a family business and significant out-of-state real estate holdings. His deep expertise in taxation and trusts was evident from the start. He clearly leveraged his LL.M. in Taxation and his recognition in the Trusts and Estates field to structure a plan that was technically sound and aimed to minimize our tax burden. The documents he drafted were thorough and reflected his 22 years of experience. However, the process felt somewhat impersonal. While he is undoubtedly the managing partner of a prominent firm, responsiveness was inconsistent. There were several instances where emails went unanswered for a week or more, and scheduled call-backs were delayed without notice. For the premium rate, I expected more proactive communication and clearer timelines. The final product is solid, and I believe my assets are well-protected, but managing client expectations throughout the engagement is an area for improvement. He is a capable attorney for intricate planning needs, but be prepared to follow up diligently.
