A solid, experienced attorney for complex energy matters

We engaged Mark Kalpin at Holland & Knight for a complex permitting issue related to a renewable energy project. His deep knowledge of energy regulatory law, backed by nearly three decades of experience and his recognition in Best Lawyers, was immediately apparent. He provided technically sound advice on navigating the state and federal environmental regulations. However, our experience was mixed. While the final legal work product was thorough, communication was sometimes inconsistent. Responses to emails could take several days, and we occasionally felt we had to follow up to get updates on timelines. For straightforward matters within his recognized expertise in energy and environmental law, he is certainly competent. Just be prepared to manage the communication flow proactively and set clear expectations on response times from the outset.
