I engaged Marc Druckman at Holland & Knight to assist with the acquisition of a small, family-owned distribution company in South Florida. His technical knowledge in the M&A space is evident, and his background in leveraged buyouts and private equity was certainly an asset when structuring the financing side of our transaction. The final documents were thorough, and it's clear he has the experience that leads to the professional recognitions he's received. However, the process felt somewhat impersonal. While he was always prepared for our scheduled calls, responses to time-sensitive email questions during due diligence often took a full business day or more, which created some anxiety on our end. For a straightforward deal like ours, his firm's processes also felt a bit more formal and layered than perhaps necessary, which impacted the overall pace. He is undoubtedly a skilled corporate attorney who will handle the legal complexities correctly, but managing client expectations and maintaining a more responsive dialogue during critical phases would elevate the experience significantly.
