Competent attorney, but communication could be more consistent

I hired Alex Arteaga-Gomez from Grossman Roth Yaffa Cohen to handle a personal injury matter after a car accident in Miami. His firm's reputation and his recognition in personal injury litigation were major factors in my decision. Alex demonstrated clear competence in navigating the insurance claim process and his knowledge of the law was evident. He was professional and ultimately secured a reasonable settlement. However, my experience was mixed on the communication front. There were periods where I felt out of the loop, waiting for updates that took longer than expected. While he was always thorough when we did connect, I sometimes had to initiate contact to get status reports. For a straightforward case, his expertise is solid and he gets the job done. For someone who prefers very frequent, proactive communication, you might need to set those expectations clearly from the start. He is a knowledgeable attorney, especially given his relatively short time in practice, but the client service aspect felt just adequate.
