Competent on privacy law, but communication could improve

I hired Lizzi Esparza at Mitchell Williams in Rogers to assist my small business with a data breach notification issue. Her background in Privacy and Data Security Law, and the recognition she's received in that field, were the primary reasons for my choice. She was clearly knowledgeable about the Arkansas state requirements and the procedural steps we needed to take. The documents she drafted were thorough, and she provided a solid framework for our response. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While the legal work itself was competent, I often found the communication to be lacking. There were several instances where I had to follow up multiple times for status updates, and responses to emails could take a few days. For a time-sensitive matter like a data breach, this created some unnecessary anxiety. As a recent graduate from the University of Arkansas law school, her practical experience is still developing, which might explain some of the process hiccups. She is undoubtedly sharp in her recognized practice areas, but managing client expectations and maintaining consistent contact are areas for growth. The outcome was acceptable, but the journey to get there felt less streamlined than I had hoped.
