I engaged Lisa Mackie at Alexander Holburn Beaudin + Lang LLP for assistance with a residential property boundary dispute. Her profile, noting recognition in real estate law and her years of experience in Denver, gave me confidence in her technical ability. During our engagement, this competence was evident. She provided a thorough analysis of the title documents and local ordinances, and her advice on negotiating with my neighbor was strategically sound, ultimately leading to a satisfactory settlement. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While the legal work was solid, I found the communication to be inconsistent. There were periods of several days where I received no updates, despite follow-up emails, which added unnecessary stress to the process. The billing was clear, but at times I felt the pace of work didn't match the urgency of the situation. Lisa is clearly knowledgeable, as her recognition suggests, and she knows Denver real estate law. For straightforward matters where you are not in a rush, she can be a good choice. My expectations for proactive communication and responsiveness, however, were only partially met. She resolved the core legal issue effectively, but the overall client service experience felt just adequate.
