Adequate representation for a complex estate dispute

Lisa Helton represented me in a contentious probate and trust litigation matter following my father's passing. Her technical knowledge in trusts and estates litigation is evident, and her recognition as a 'Lawyer of the Year' in this field was a primary reason for my selection. She is clearly a sharp and capable attorney who understood the intricate tax implications of the dispute. The legal strategy she developed was sound, and we achieved a settlement. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. Communication was not as proactive as I had hoped; I often had to follow up for updates, and responses could take several days. While her legal work was competent, the overall client experience felt efficient rather than attentive. For someone needing a skilled litigator on a complex estate case, she will get the job done, but manage your expectations regarding personal communication.
