I engaged Lesli Harris to assist my small tech startup in New Orleans with a trademark dispute that had potential trade secret implications. Her background from NYU and her recognition in intellectual property law were clear assets; she understood the nuances of the case immediately and provided solid, strategic advice on our defense. Her 17 years of experience, particularly with emerging companies, meant she was familiar with the pressures we faced. The outcome of the matter was satisfactory and aligned with her competent guidance. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While the legal work itself was proficient, there were noticeable delays in email responses and updates, which created some anxiety during a fast-moving process. At times, it felt like we had to follow up to stay in the loop. Additionally, for a firm of Kelly Hart & Hallman's stature, I found the billing structure and some administrative aspects to be less streamlined than expected. Ms. Harris is undoubtedly knowledgeable in her fields of IP and business law, and I would not hesitate to acknowledge her expertise. Yet, for the premium level of service implied by her profile and recognitions, I had hoped for more proactive communication and a smoother client experience overall.
