Leonard Jones

Competent in employment matters, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Leonard Jones at Jackson Lewis PC for guidance on a complex non-compete agreement my former employer was attempting to enforce. His background in Labor and Employment Law - Management from Rutgers University–Newark was evident, and his recognition by Best Lawyers in that field gave me confidence. He provided a thorough analysis of the agreement's enforceability under New Jersey law and his strategic advice was sound, ultimately helping me reach a settlement. However, the experience was mixed. While Leonard is clearly knowledgeable, there were significant delays in receiving responses to emails, sometimes stretching over a week, which added to my stress during negotiations. I also felt that some aspects of the potential litigation costs and timeline were not communicated as clearly upfront as they could have been. He is a capable attorney who knows his field, but the client service and communication follow-through didn't quite match the level of his legal expertise. For straightforward matters, he would be fine, but for cases requiring frequent updates, you may need to set very clear expectations.
