Competent corporate counsel, but communication could improve

I engaged Leo Martin at Morrison Foerster for guidance on a mid-sized business acquisition in Boston. His background from Fordham and recognition in corporate law by Best Lawyers was evident in the thoroughness of his contract review and due diligence work. He clearly knows the legal landscape. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While the final work product was solid, there were periods where responses to emails took longer than expected, and some of the finer points of the transaction timeline weren't communicated as proactively as I would have liked. For straightforward corporate matters, his expertise is reliable. I would just advise future clients to be very clear about communication expectations from the outset. He delivered competent legal work, but the client service aspect felt just adequate.
