Competent IP work, but communication could be more consistent

I engaged Lauren Brenner at Kilpatrick Townsend to assist with a trademark opposition proceeding for my small tech startup. Her substantive knowledge in intellectual property law, particularly in litigation matters, was evident. She was clearly well-versed in the procedural details, and her background being recognized by Best Lawyers in IP Litigation gave me confidence in her technical abilities. The legal strategy she developed was sound, and we achieved a satisfactory settlement. However, the experience was somewhat mixed on the service side. There were periods where responses to emails took longer than expected, and at times I felt I had to follow up to get status updates. For straightforward legal matters, her expertise from Emory and her firm is solid. For clients who prioritize constant, proactive communication, setting clear expectations at the outset would be advisable. She is a capable attorney who knows her field, but the client service aspect felt just adequate for the level of firm.
