Competent but communication could be more consistent

I hired Larry Logsdon to handle a dispute with a subcontractor over significant cost overruns and delays on a commercial renovation project in Mobile. His deep background, representing general contractors and owners since joining Wallace, Jordan, Ratliff & Brandt in the late 90s, was the primary reason for my selection. His knowledge of Alabama construction law and the practical realities of these disputes was evident. He successfully negotiated a settlement that avoided litigation, which I appreciated. However, my experience was mixed. While the legal outcome was satisfactory, the process felt somewhat disjointed. Response times to emails were inconsistent, sometimes taking several days, which created anxiety during critical negotiation phases. Explanations of strategy, while thorough when provided, sometimes came after I had to follow up. For straightforward commercial litigation matters, his firm grasp of the subject matter from decades in general practice is undeniable. You will get competent representation. Just be prepared to manage your own expectations regarding client communication and proactively seek updates. The value was there, but the client service aspect felt merely adequate, not exceptional.
